A number comparison tells you what the map has. The hook tells you what you'll be doing. High-contrast red against a dark row, two words that survive at card size. It doubled the rate.

The winning hook was re-tested over a longer 5-day window to allow algorithm placement to settle. Both variants held above 15% across the full week — 16.36% and 15.53%. Two independent results in the same band is a stronger signal than one lucky number.
What this shows and what it doesn't. These are raw Creator Portal exports for one island over one week. CTR is shaped by placement and traffic mix as well as artwork, and impression volume moved between rounds — so this is a record of a testing process, not an isolated measurement of the thumbnail alone. We publish it as-is rather than as a projection.

Top UEFN island creators ranked by average CTR score & thumbnail performance this week.
What the maps currently winning Discovery have in common, weighted by how much each factor moves click-through rate.
Rim lighting separates the character from the backdrop, so the subject still reads at Discovery card size.
1v1, Boxfight and Infinity Tycoon visuals dominate the top recommendation rows right now.
Saturated cyan cuts against Fortnite's dark Discovery UI, so the card separates instead of blending in.
Washed-out colour reads as low effort at thumbnail size. Saturated palettes keep their punch when the card shrinks.
Saccadic retention data shows a visible human face lifts click-through by roughly a quarter.
Short one to three word hooks — RELOAD, OG, CAN YOU ESCAPE — are the only text that survives on mobile.
Custom 3D map artwork designed one-on-one for maximum Fortnite Discovery CTR — then audited through the same engine that scores it.
“It’s my first map. I just don’t want it to look amateur.”
“My map is live but nobody’s clicking it. I need a thumbnail that actually competes.”
“I wanna dominate the top 1% using psychological analysis for the right players.”
