The original crammed in a title, a subtitle and two ships. Cutting the text and making it a straight Level 1 vs Level 999 comparison won — but only just.

A number comparison tells you what the map has. The hook tells you what you'll be doing. High-contrast red against a dark row, two words that survive at card size. It doubled the rate.

Ran the hook against itself and let it settle

The winning hook was re-tested over a longer 5-day window to allow algorithm placement to settle. Both variants held above 15% across the full week — 16.36% and 15.53%. Two independent results in the same band is a stronger signal than one lucky number.

What this shows and what it doesn't. These are raw Creator Portal exports for one island over one week. CTR is shaped by placement and traffic mix as well as artwork, and impression volume moved between rounds — so this is a record of a testing process, not an isolated measurement of the thumbnail alone. We publish it as-is rather than as a projection.
